What kind of tube do you need ? Possibly you can pull the copper out of an electrical cable and use the tube which is formed. The leads on a multimeter are quite pliable. You should wash it of course, and honey would sterilize at the same time as it lubricates the tube.

The first chick I had to kill I dug a hole under a small tree, then carefully wrapped the chick in a teatowel which made it quite comfortable. I put it into it's grave and to make the process too fast for the little thing to know about, I used a thick piece of wood 10cm x 15cm x about a meter long ? bringing it down fast upon the chick's head, so that the time between the blow, and the time it takes to completely end the conscious existence in this world, was too short for the chick to be in any pain. I filled in the dirt and the tree blooms every year. I hope it was right to do.

Im sorry you had to do that to your chick, its hard to do - but if it was suffering it was the right thing to do. The tree is a beautiful memorial to their life, well done.
I've done something like that once before, but I'm not sure I could stomach it again, especially not to my friend for the past 10 years...
