Late november early december i had a pullet that seemed like she hurt her leg but it preceded to happen and eventually it got bad enough we had to cull her. Late december my sizzle pullet seemed to hurt her leg put then it healed and then it was injured again. Since then its been getting worse and now she cant stand but her feet can still grip and her legs can move but she cant stand or really control them either and now my mixed hen is loosing control of her legs and shell start stumbling and shell fall foward on her head and she usually just lays on her side. what is wrong?

....or lymphoid luekosis...viral tumerous diseases....For Mericks, there is an immunization you can give to newly hatched chicks. Hatcheries tend to inocculate them just prior to hatching....if you request the vaccination...

I had a hen that lost all strength in her legs and could only sit. I thought she was a goner, but I managed to save her. It's always guesswork when it comes to illnesses, but my best guess was that she got into something toxic (likely too much vetch in early spring). So, I dosed her with epsom salt and did a few other things. She stopped laying and never resumed, but more than 3 years later she's still in my flock. You can read about her symptoms and what I did on my blog. Start here, then do an archive search: http://www.hencam.com/henblog/2008/06/buffys-ongoing-recovery/
