I’m at a bit of a loss on what to do here. We got our chick order about a week ago and I noticed a chick not doing great today. After further inspection I noticed it walking funny so I took a look at the legs and it became pretty apparent what the issue was. There’s a bend in his upper leg. At first I thought it was broken, but it seems like it might be a deformity. I can’t get pictures quite yet but I need advice on how to handle this since I assume it’ll only get worse if I don’t do something now. I’m going to separate him out(looking for spare stuff right now but he is safe and already away from other chicks), would it be a good idea to put another similar sized chick in there so he has a friend or would that be a no? I plan to mix honey and electrolyte powder in with his water, that’s good right? Also, he’s been on gamebird grower up to this point, so should I take him off that and put him on regular chick grower, or should I keep feeding that?(he is a silver spangled hamburg chick) I would like to avoid culling him because he seems to be eating, drinking, and generally seems energetic. I’ve never dealt with something like this so I just wanna make sure everything is correct.
