Mysterious Toe Growth

Both of my hens are affected by these funky feet that look like E.T. fingers. It doesn't appear to be painful and they are otherwise healthy, but their feet do sort of flop like swim fins when they walk. Rooster's feet are normal. Anybody?

Tray to clean their feet...it is dirt from scratching the ground
