This has happened to a few of my other silkies before and no matter what I've tried it always results in death. First I notice that the bird starts to lay around more and it seems as if they're puffing out their chest. But the weird part is that they can still walk, eat, and drink. I've suspected them being egg bound and hypothermic but every time after being treated accordingly they past away. Now this darlin I discovered does have pretty bad live which I've been treating her for, but could that be the cause of all of this? Or maybe she has mites as well and I haven't noticed? I had never noticed parasites on the other birds that this had happened too but perhaps I had just missed them. What do you think? I'm beginning to become worried.
