Mystery bantam chicks

cockerel I meant. I just know that you have at least one cockerel so if you can't keep any you might want to look for a home for them before they turn 2 months old, that is usually when they start crowing but some don't crow until several months later.

Can anyone tell me if cochins are a slower developing breed than the others? The little black one is not getting wing feathers like the others are. They really haven't grown in much more than the pic in the first post. Thanks!

I would say they mature faster than some breeds such as Wyandottes and silkies but I did have one blue cochin bantam that barely had wing feathers and mostly chick down that became a roo

Well you might be lucky and it will turn out to be a hen!

My mom has a Cornish chick that she showed me on Viber video chat yesterday that she says might be a hen because it hasn’t crowed and is 11 weeks old. It had very little wing feathers so we thought it was a cockerel when she got it at 2 weeks old.

But I had forgotten Cornish males and females are feathered differently so I’m going to ask her to send me a pic of it since it was a bit blurry in the video.

I got these tiny babies from a tub marked silkies at Rural King yesterday. They obviously are not silkies but some other kinds of bantam. Think the black one is possibly cochin but no idea on the others. Thoughts? The black one looks like our silver laced cochin chicks and the yellow feather legged looks like our red cochin which happens to be a frizzle. I don't know how to tell if it's a frizzle this young, except if the feathers arent kind of tight to their side.
