Ok, these 3 were bought at a local farm store last year.... the rest we hatched out :) all 6 roosters and only 1 hen!!!

but they all get along and they are calm, quick and excellent fliers and occ go broody...they stay close to the house and will come for treats but they stand back 3-4 feet and only dart in and out for the treats or wait till I leave...only the alpha roo will come at me when I am too close to his girls or coop...pitiful as he is less than a pound! haha

We have had these before and the new ones have lived up to what I remembered about them, they are the friendliest most social chickens I have ever had, always want to be picked up Are yoursa that way?

No, I would think that they would be friendly if we had hand raised them...but they were my dad's birds...I just inherited them when I bought his house haha...and he wanted them to be as wild as possible...he thought it would make them better at evading predators....but they will still come when called and are quite nice and friendly, and with 7 roo's and 3 hen you would think the hens would be hurting...but no they are very nice roo's...for the most part

and take very good care of the girls as well as any new chicks I bring in and there is always a roo supervising all areas (one with the broody hen and her babies, one with the bannie hens, one with the production red hen as she wanders and the rest with my new flock of pullets...trying to convince them to share their coop haha ) once my silkies get older I may have them hatch out some eggs for me so I can see how tame they could be...right now the broody mom wont let me close to her chicks!

But yes they are BEAUTIFUL! I never though I would love seeing so many roo's in the yard

We had a pair years ago Romeo and Juliet. Romeo rode around on my husbands shoulder whenever he was outside. Romeo took on my Auracauna rooster AND WON!!, he didn't back down from anything. Unfortunately we lost him and I swear Juliet died of loneliness. Our new Roo who is 8 weeks just crowed this am first time more of a croak than anything, over and over,,,,so cute
Enjoy your babies,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Arlene

Yes, they are fearless! and quite tame for being raised to be wild!

haha I still shake my head at that one! Ours have chased off several stray cats and dogs! alerted us two 2 HUGE rat snakes in the biddy pen and in the egg house, they call out even if a crow flies over and the one that goes broody makes a wonderful, fearless and formidable mother and we have not lost even one to any predators...and they are beautiful! have I said that one before haha

and the girls lay about 5 eggs a week! small but yummy...if I can find them, as they do not like using the nest boxes and I have to look for their new nest somewhere in our barn every few days!
