I've never had a Buff Orpington cockerel but I wonder if a hatchery one would have white on them like that?
Not a red sex link, and very sadly a cockerel.
I have a Golden sex-link and had two at one time, that chicken looks like both of mine did at that age. It may be a she that has a bit more male hormone, giving her a bigger comb. Sometimes females have male traits. I had a female white Delaware that had pseudo-spurs. I also have a female blue Andalusian who lays gorgeous eggs but has huge (even for her breed) comb and waddles, like a rooster.
