Partly I would like to know what it is, boris of the feet are yellow. It's about 6-7 weeks old. Don't remember if the tank said hoover's black, not sure what breed(s) that is, or Jersey giant. I bought 2 of them and 2 supposed black copper marans. All 4 birds after the down disappeared look exactly the same. This one though has some serious waddles going on and a comb that the others don't but the feathering doesn't look like a cockerel to me and doesn't act like one. Pretty mellow and just hangs out with the rest of the chicks, is about the same size as well. Any thoughts on sex and breed?

I would have never suspected anything from feathers, just suddenly noticed the waddles then saw the comb.... he has a white feather at the end of both of his wings as does another. Is this something specific to Jersey giants?

I do know Australorp have a few white feathers when young, but none when they get their adult feathers at 4-6 months of age. I don't know if the same is true for Jersey giants.

Definitely a Jersey Giant cockerel.

Don't worry about any white, it will grow out all black. If not then chalk it up to hatchery quality birds. But I'm sure he'll be all black as you expect.
