It looks like a Welsummer or a Brown Leghorn, but with that comb I would say a Brown Leghorn pullet. Here it is as a fresh baby.
Ok! Hopefully a pulley either way. I’ll wait some more and we will seeIt looks like a Welsummer or a Brown Leghorn, but with that comb I would say a Brown Leghorn pullet.
Ignore the last one. Not sure how the Wyandotte got in thereHere are some updated photos! 4.5 weeks.
He grew up fast!I’m still convinced it’s a cockerel? Maybe because I’m still sad I was sent the wrong breed and I figure they probably threw in a boy on top of itIt grew its comb very young and it’s still growing everyday. None of my other birds have a comb that size. It has waddles now too. I’d really appreciate any suggestions of breed and gender if the picture updates help?
I just knew it! Fairly early on I suspected. They love my fermented chick feedHe grew up fast! And yes, it is a he.
I'm thinking he's a Brown Leghorn because of his comb and he seemed to grow fast. Or maybe that's just me.
At his age he needs 65-70 degrees.I just knew it! Fairly early on I suspected. They love my fermented chick feedThey have all grown and feathered pretty quickly I think. I never really had them in a temperature controlled environment. They moved to the garage (not insulated) after six days with a heat plate and then out to the coop almost two weeks now. Our temperatures are 30 - 40 F at night and 50 - 65 F days. They don’t use the heat plate much just at night. I will probably pull it out in a week. I started letting them out of the coop a couple days ago and they hang out in the run.
I think they would retaliateAt his age he needs 65-70 degrees.
Once they all feather in they can go outside.
