"Mystery" chick sent in MPC order

NOPE! They expect me to believe that it IS a blue andalusian!

Yes, which is why I ordered from them in the first place! The smallest number of chicks they can ship is 3, and I guess they'd rather lie to me than accept responsibility for a botched order.

If it were my company, I would try to keep the customer satisfied by offering them a partial (or complete) refund, or by sending out 3 more chicks of the correct breed. MPC has not proven themselves to be very trustworthy or reliable, in my experience!

Hatchery stories are all so fishy! Does anyone have chicks of where hatcheries even keep there birds of anything? Like we really have no idea where there coming from! That last chick, is so so so so so cute though <3

An Easter Egger would be cool!

I brought the chick over to the computer screen, and looked at it next to the picture of the chick you posted. They DO look alike!!! And we examined its feet, and they do have a light grayish green tinge to them. I think you may be right!

Don't they lay green eggs? What do they look like when they grow up? My searches for EE pics seem to show lots of different colors, so I can't tell what's what. Now, if this pullet grows up to lay green eggs, I will have even more proof for MPC about how it's so NOT a blue andalusian!

My son says he'd like an EE so that we can finally have "green eggs and ham".

It has been posted previously on several occasions that MPC gets their chicks through Meyer. I know Meyer is doing a small order program as well, but they don't sell their bantams sexed which seems to be one of the main reasons people order from MPC.

I have had mixed luck with MPC. I had a rather minor issue and could not get any response despite multiple attempts over several weeks. This was over the summer when a few other people were having the same issue. To this day, they have *still* never returned any of my messages.

That said, the chicks I got were decent quality with just a couple problems. I got a couple of roos that were supposed to be pullets and a couple died, but nothing terribly out of the ordinary. The birds I was left with are higher quality than the typical hatchery (something to be said more for Meyer than MPC).

I may or may not order from MPC again. It would just depend on the situation. They impressed me as having ZERO customer service skills. I would order from Meyer directly though.

My first trio of Blue Andalusians came directly from Meyer's. I think I tried their site and it said they were "out of stock" or "not available" or something. I didn't have any problems at all with that order. I'd go with them next time, myself. MPC is too full of BS. Would they really rather let people believe that their stock is so poor that they produce RED Blue Andalusians, than simply admit someone made a mistake and gave me a substitution??? I sure as heck wouldn't!
