Mystery chick...

I recently ordered some Japanese Bantam eggs from ebay for my broody hen. The eggs arrived damaged all but one, and when the single chick hatched it had feathered legs. So not a Japanese Bantam then! I got a refund but now I'm puzzled about this chick.

I know it is most likely a Pekin Bantam since this breed is very common in the UK, or possible a Pekin cross, but what is the name of its colour? Its feathering in very strange looking.

This is the little guy at almost 4 weeks old:

Thanks for the reply! Yep I was pretty sure he's a boy. Never seen a chick with the white tips on the feathers like that. He has white feathers coming on his chest as well.

Well, One... He's a cockerel. 2, he could be a red peking. They will feather out with those camouflaging marks that will go away after the first juvenile molt.

Agreed. He'll likely be all red after his first molt. Its very common for red birds to have the white tips and molt out solid red. There is also a possibility he could be a Calico or Millie Fleur but those are much more uncommon patterns than red.
