Mystery chickens!

First one. This is Lucia. We think she might be an Easter egger since her egg this morning was blue.

This happened to me for real! A neighbor's kids found an abandoned duckling and since I had ducks at the time, assumed it was mine. I wasn't home at the time so they just put the baby in my run. I was very surprised to come home to a teeny whistling duckling following around my giant Pekins. It was the cutest thing ever watching that little duck learn how to fly; I think my fat ducks were jealous.

Did the mama duck adopt the new baby?

Not really. The ducks were huge adults, but I also had younger small chickens, so from what I can remember the duckling hung out more with them. It was crazy though, as she learned to fly, other whistling ducks started hanging out near the house. Then she started flying off with them, at first just around the house, and then out of sight. She came back at night for a while, then stopped. They are migratory so every year I see groups of them for a few weeks at a time. I like to believe that one of them coming by every year is our little duckling all grown up.
