I would guess they are crosses. Black Jersey Giants should be solid black and should not have all of that straw in the hackle and back. I noticed a couple people said theirs looks like this, but if they do they are probably not Bl Jersey Giants either. Both are very pretty and I really like the wheaton colored one.

After observing the roo quite awhile today, I do think he is an australorp cross - the eyes and green sheen on his feathers are just like my australorps. But it was the lighter feathers on top that were throwing me.
