In the Brooder
Hello, all! We brought home twelve fluffy little chicks last month for our first-ever chicken flock, and I'm so excited! I brought home 4 buff Orps, 4 EEs and these 4 little mystery babies. They were in an unlabled bin (at Rural King) of chicks that were all either black or gray/blue. Hoping you all might have a clue as to breeds, and REALLY hoping you'll tell me the two with giant red combs are just hen anomalies and not roosters
The blue chick with the larger comb belongs to my six year old daughter, and she'll be bummed if her "Lily" turns out to be a "Larry!"
Further info: the black chicks have black/black and yellow legs and the blue chicks have yellow legs. The black chick with the larger comb has neck feathers that flare out when the chicks are battling it out for pecking order. They are about 5 weeks old in these pictures.
Thanks for your help! Looking forward to learning from all the seasoned chicken owners on here!
