Updated post from a previous post... Now just over 6 weeks old. Narrowed it down to possibly Welsummer or Brown Leghorn. Any guesses???

Looks like neither to me, being red feathered instead of brown..

Noting red lobes is brown layer like Welsummer.

White lobes would be a white layer like Leghorn.

What were the other options? :pop
Just seeing this... Honestly I'm not sure on other options. Narrowed it down to those 2 because of other people's suggestions. Still fairly new to raising chickens and learning breeds.

It looks like a barnyard cross to me (or possibly production red type), but where did they come from? That can really help narrow it down.

I agree body type indicates Welsummer, but the white lobes rule that out. A brown Leghorn pic from google for color/pattern comparison.. (a Welsummer would look similar but have red ear lobes).

The boy in your background on the last pic.. is that an Easter Egger? I can't really make him out and almost looks Wyandotte in the blur) Since Easter and Olive eggers don't fall inline to a certain standard I wonder if that''s a breed possibility for the gal in question.

Despite having done this for a fair amount of time (10+ years), I still make mistakes and ALWAYS have something new to learn. New breeds and project colors are developing all the time! So I'm just discussing the clues. Everything I see says she is a cross (or hybrid) of sorts.. BUT, it's just a guess.

She's so cute in pic #2! :love

Hopefully you will get some more feed back! :)

I actually got all of the chicks from Tractor Supply which I believe is supplied through Hoover Hatchery. I've been getting mixed answers from multiple people but was leaning towards some type of leghorn because of the earlobe color. Welsummer was thrown around a lot as well. Her and another were in a bin mixed with other colored breeds and only marked as premium. They were unsure of their breed... The one in the last picture blurred is a golden laced wyandotte that we recently established is a cockerel. He is a week older than our mystery chicks. We have none that were hatched on site or purchased from a private seller so we are assuming a full breed from the hatchery. Easter Egger could be an option, I just figured they'd have the colored legs or cheek muffs if they were... But, I'm also not familiar with their variety. Either way I really appreciate your input! I'll post pictures of the other mystery girl soon. She is a little more developed in feathering than this one.

That's what I actually thought before the end of my post, partly due to size. (Good boys in my experience)

That's good reasoning.. but I'm going with doesn't match any established standard of perfection (that I'm familiar with)and is therefor a hybrid either for egg color or sex linking. Most likely egg color in this instance.

A picture of Easter Egger from Hoovers site.. (notice NO beard or muffs or pea comb because EE are a hybrid and there is NO standard of perfection)

Their explanation/description of THEIR line of EE follows..

"Our Easter Eggers are a combination of the traditional American Easter Eggers, which typically has a pea comb, beard and green legs, along with the European version of Easter Eggers, which are called Grünleger, which typically have yellow legs, a single comb, and commonly a tuft on its head. The Grünleger is a hybrid cross between a commercial type Legbar, and brown egg-laying hens, therefore unlike the American Easter Egger, they will not breed true, with only a portion of the offspring laying colored eggs. Overall, the Easter Eggers typically lay colored eggs, but up to 15% of the time you will have one that lays brown or cream eggs"

FWIW, so called American Easter Eggers in that previous quote won't "breed true" either.

A picture of Olive Egger from Hoovers.. (Welsummer are often part of the equation).

The starlight green egger mentioned by the last poster is also another good option as a possibility. Here is that link..

After all this discussion.. those are my top 3 probabilities.

leaning towards some type of leghorn because of the earlobe color
Close, Legbar.. Hoover's has added in cream Legbars to their OE equation. which carry white lobes and some of that (poor quality) patterning.. (I'd be surprised if not also used in the EE).
