A few months ago I picked up a few chicks at the local per store and they told me they didn’t know the breeds. I’ve since figured out all abut these two. I would appreciate any ideas anyone has on the breeds. Thank you. D9A4EFAA-D37A-4878-A6D4-6CD4D49883EB.jpeg 322B8788-DD75-4846-9A30-73F550570720.jpeg

Very interesting! Both look like cross-breeds.
The brown one looks like a wheaten marans cross (no foot feathering?) and the white one looks a lot like a sex-linked Delaware cross (Delaware x RIR or New Hampshire red is likely in my opinion).

However, those are just my guesses! :)

On my phone and had a typo but they came from a pet store that told me they where local hatched and didn’t know the breeds she said they had basque Orpington comets Delaware and Rhode Island reds along with a few others. I’m pretty sure the top white one is a male but he doesn’t crow yet and his comb is small compared to my other Roos. I purchased 50 from tractor supply this year 20 from the pet store as a impulse lol. The little hen just didn’t look like my other sex links and the white one I am calling tweety just doesn’t look like anyone else.

Agreed.

How much did you pay for unsexed cross breeds? Were they even NPIP certified? I'm leery of disease and makes me crazy when feed or pet stores are clueless. :barnie

I'd say a Delaware cross cockerel, and a comet or RIR cross. Nothing looking pure to me. But I am here to learn. :pop

1 dollar each and they are suppose to be certified to my understanding I did keep them separate from my other chicks for a month. Every plays well together though I just added them in with my older girls this last week. Figure they can teach them about where to lay so they can pay their rent, since it’s almost that time.
