I had a billion broody hens and decided to throw something under them. I got 10 colored eggs from someone that occasionally sells eggs to one of my relatives. I've seen some of their chickens, but to be honest, I don't remember much about what they looked like, nor do I know if they've had any changes in their flock.
I also have a mystery mixed breed splash hen with my bantam rooster (guessing colored layer mix of some sort, but she herself lays light brown), whose eggs I have attempted to hatch months ago with poor results, but this time the eggs are developing a lot better, so I'm hoping it was a one-time fluke. If there will be any issues with this hatch, I'll take it as a sign to not hatch her eggs anymore.
Forgot to mention that some of the eggs are in an incubator.

In total, I have 6 developing colored mystery eggs (numbered 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) and 6 developing eggs from my splash hen (2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12), most of which were set on May 4th, currently on day 11 (one or two of the splash hen's eggs are 1 or 2 days younger.)

Okay, enough yapping, who's interested to see what hatches out? Anyone want to make a guess as to what the chicks might look like?

Lockdown today or tomorrow??? So exciting!
Lockdown is tomorrow for the incubator bunch. The ones under the Silkie hen are just going to stay as they are.

I also found out the dark brown ones are Marans eggs. I'm not sure what breed the rooster was, so I don't know if they'll be pure Marans or mixes. I suppose we'll see when they hatch.

Just two more days!
Anyone want to take a guess on what colors the chicks will be, for fun?
I'm hoping to see some brown and blue chipmunk striped chicks from my splash girl's eggs, I think those would look adorable.

We have our first external pip! It's egg number 3. I only saw it because it was the closest one under the hen, so maybe there's other pipped ones I didn't see.
