I'm bought 3 chicks last July, and raised them. They've been doing great, laying eggs etc. Today I was shocked to find my Aracana (Darla) face done dead in the coop. The last time I saw her alive she was fine and acting normal. In fact I distinctly remember her taking a mud bath with the other 2. She stopped laying eggs for about 3 days before her death, so I am wondering if maybe her plumbing got clogged or something. The only other explanation I can think of is that she choked on something. I was doing some construction type work in the coop last weekend, and I may have left a piece of scrap metal on the ground.
The other 2 seem fine, so I am hopeful there is not something in the water, so to speak.
Any other ideas of what may have happened????
