It's been my experience that keets aren't as cold hardy as other fowl.

That's funny because the grownup guineas are really cold hardy...

at least ours were.

I've read that one of the most common causes of death in keets is when the mom leaves the nest and takes the chicks through damp grass.

Yeah the adults are but not the keets. The whole wet grass thing is true the guinea keets get sick and die for some reason.
