Ok guys, every year during the florida summers I mysteriously start losing birds. I have no clue what it is they just die!!! Today while I am in st. Augustine for the week my dad texted me and said i lost 2 chickens, 1 pheasant, and a duck. It happens every year to my birds ONLY in the summers june - july. I dont get it nothing is being changed, added, or any thing. No symptoms they absolutely just fall over dead!!!! I really need some help i am willing to do what ever is needed. I am starting to just want to give up completely!!! I left last tuesday and all birds were doing fine, i know it wasnt a predator my dad would know, it may have been a snake but i dont know. I just really need help ASAP!!!!!!!! P. S. You all may know we had that dreadful flooding 2 weeks ago could that have done it?

Hi aldren90,
I would think about what plants you have that might be flowering/seeding at this time, and see if that might be a culprit.
Any toxic toads that might be prevalent in summer? Foul water sources or runoff or possible sources of botulism? (Germs grow quicker in summer if it's moist.)
How hot has it been? If it's really seriously hot you can easily lose birds.
Sorry I can't help further,
Erica

They all have water in their pens from a water hose and it has been extremely humid here and the heat index gas been up to 110 here lately. It just always happens and I don't know what to do. They usually are fine one day and the next very sick and even dead.
