Shipped to me as hatching eggs for Silver Appleyard calls, which is not what they are... So, what the heck are they? If I had to guess, I'd say maybe Australian Spotted? Cute little fellas, anyway.

Hmmm I am unsure on what they are they sure are cute what I would do is Google the breed you think it is look at pictures and if they look a like then you can assume that is the breed or go to the vet they should be able to tell good luck raising them!

Well, I would love input from someone with genetics know-how on the down color patterns. That would be a clue. They came from small eggs, so they are bantams or calls of some sort.

Well, now that I've found the paperwork from the egg sale, I'm not so sure of this whole thing. The listed types of ducks owned/sold are as follows: Call ducks--grey, white, ancona, butterscotch, blue fawn, snowy, appleyard. So, those are the possibilities. All calls all the time.

Yeah, that's what the one on the right is. The one on the left has eye stripes, so it is light restricted mallard genetically, i think. I have been reading Dave Holderread. But, what I cant figure out is this: is it a poor quality appleyard call, or an Australian spotted, or a mix?
