Mystery Egg, Came In A Barnyard Mix For Hatching! (Duck, or Chicken Egg?)

Oh wow that’s crazy! We live in a rural area too. We have 13 acres and a pond and then rock mining ponds behind us and woods. so I hear them honking all the time but the only thing we have in our pond is our 3 ducks and an occasional wild wood duck.

I live in kind of rural/city area, but don't have enough room, so we keep all our chickens at our grandpa's place because he lives on farmland.

Ahhh!!! So cute! I’ve done 3 6egg hatches and only my second one and third one only had one egg that was fertilized. The third one is still in the bator.

There were 56 eggs in my incubator, only 19 hatched, one died 6 days later, now I have 18 living, and growing.

Too cool! We have a silkie roo and a mix of different hens. The one chick that has hatched has the silkie 5 toes but that’s all for now that I can see.

I bought 4 straight run silkies yesterday from tractor supply and hopefully they are all hens.

I bought 6 silkies from there about 8 weeks ago. Three are roos, three are pullets. Some are walnut, single, & rose combed.

I hope all are pullets. We don’t have enough hens for more than one roo. The hawk gets them
