Today I went out into the coop to collect eggs, after hearing alot of noise in the chicken coop, when I went into the coop I found a massive white egg in the middle of the coop.( I moved it into a nesting box to take pictures for comparison.) I then took it inside to candle and it was so difficult to see anything unlike my normal white eggs, but from what I could see it only had one yolk?? I put it in the incubator to see what happens :fl what to you guys think it is? Because I haven't a clue!

I just read another thread about someone having the same issue and they thought it could've been an owl?? I have lots of owls near me as I live in the woods in michigan.

I don't think owl egg, I googled and they seem mostly to be speckled. Sometimes you will just get an odd egg like this, especially if your girls are young and new to laying, or coming off a molt.

All of my chickens are 3+ and haven't had a molt In awhile. The most "odd" egg I've gotten was when they first started laying and one didnt have a shell. So I don't really know how to explain this egg:he before I went into the coop to get the eggs, about a half an hour earlier, all of our chickens were freaking out and running around, which they never do.

I once found a pigeon egg, in the chicken laying boxes, along with my hens eggs!

Are you sure it was a pigeon egg and not a "fairy egg"? Also called a wind egg, fart egg, rooster egg... is a tiny egg chickens may lay from time to time, may be as small as a dime or a quarter, may or may not have any yolk material in it. If you set it aside and save it, it may dry up inside and you can keep it. I have one here somewhere, not my smallest. Let me get a pic.
