I have a mystery. I do not know if this is normal first egg behavior or a predator reaction.

Yesterday, I found two eggs on top of the hood of the "Willie Jeep" parked under shelter next to the chicken coop.

One egg was very tiny like a first egg. IT was dented. The other was larger and cracked too. Both had very soft shells...almost rubbery. There was also chicken poop and reddish spatters on the hood. I thought it was blood and that a chicken had been killed, but all chickens are ok.

I do have two seven month old chicks that travel together could this be their first misguided effort? Or is it possible that some strange jungle creature literally scared the poop and eggs? out of one of them?

I suspect they are just in their learning curve for laying. I have had a few soft shells in the first couple of weeks with mine.
