Ok, I have a sick hen whose symptoms don’t seem to match any main chicken illnesses, so I’m not sure what is wrong with her. If anyone has any advice, that would be awesome!
She is an EE, about 2 years. The problem has been going on for about 5 days. She is just laying on the floor in the coop and a couple of other places nearby during the day, but is perching at night. Normally, she is very active and is with the group. I wouldn’t call her very lethargic exactly since when I try to pick her up she will run away, but when I do catch her, she doesn’t struggle to get away (as usual). She is not panting. She is not walking weird or limping and doesn’t seem to have Bumblefoot. Her crop seems empty, not impacted or squishy. She was eating and drinking some, but may have stopped now. She has pooped some yellowish-white poop. There has been at least one hen laying soft-shelled eggs, but I don’t know if it is her. We have given them extra calcium recently. I had her drink some probiotic/electrolyte water yesterday. Today, we are going to give her an Epsom salt bath in case she has a soft shell stuck in her?
Sorry that was so long! Any idea what might be wrong? Thank you!
