Mystery Predator

I live in north east North Carolina. Last night we had a pack of coyotes next to the house. There are always coons and possums around but the dog keeps them away. The feral cat keeps the mouse population down around the coop or at least will till the dog finds the cat. It's a crazy circle of life here.

The answer to your frog on the island? Poor frog, he has swam his last swim.

Here is your riddle: You are in a square house with one window on each side of the house. All four sides face south. A chicken wlaks past, what color is the chicken?

i have walked out my back door to find a bobcat on the hood of my car another time I walked out the back door and all of a sudden a horrible growling sound under my feet! A bobcat was under my back deck! When i shut the door it rocketed out and up into the hills. we have packs of coyotes nightly yipping and carrying on all around my house, probably after all the wild turkey that roam the edge of my property, but my dogs are intimidating enough to keep them away. The only animals I have ever had trouble with were racoons getting in a chicken house and he was a tough guy . he may have been possessed, I still remember him vividly and its been a good 13 years . Only predator that bothers me are snakes, got me two copperheads last year... and that elusive bantam chupacabra

I would get a live chicken and put it in a cage about 100 yards from the coop and put about 4-5 foot hold traps around the cage. It works for bobcats, coons, possums, coyotes.

We don't have any small dogs or wild cats, I have never seen a mink, a Martin or a Fisher. So which do you think it is Coon, Possum, or Skunk?

Just because you have never seen one, doesn't mean it's not one of the above (unless not native to your area). Like said above, not enough info. Do you have a pic of tracks or droppings? Put out a cage trap or trail camera and try to determine what it was. Every one of the animals you mention, ex. dogs, will go into a cage.

O.K. I will try that.

For anyone to say what it really is you really need to take
a photo of it D or A but a really good description other
then that it is anyone's guess ......

But if I were you I would think about securing your coop
really good and tight .......
