My Aunt doesn't feed her chickens meat(but is fine with Mealworms), but free ranges them, so I don't get her, cuz they'll still find a source of meat somewhere, like a frog, snake, mouse, etc..
They are omnivores.

My chicks do better on the feed I get. This is the ingredients of Poulin Chick Starter/Grower 20%. It's the brand my aunt buys for her birds. It's mostly supplements, & prebiotics/probiotics, & oils.

No wonder I had a chick I hatched got pasty butt.
That page has a problem: it's listing the ingredients in alphabetical order, rather than by how much is in the feed. Talk about making it hard to see what's there!

I think this is the same stuff. At least this page lists the ingredients in the order we'd expect to see. The first two ingredients are corn meal and soybean meal, which is at least fairly normal for a chicken feed. (Not saying whether that's good or bad, just that it's pretty common.)

Yeah. It's the same. The chicks definitely have a problem with it, they waste more then they actually eat from it.

Here's what I usually feed everybody, minimal to zero wasting with it.
