Arvo slashed at her attacker, and she tucked in her head. Her talons were aimed at Dysis' stomach.

Dysis twisted his swan-like neck to try to avoid Avro's beak. He slammed legs first into her claws. Feeling his own flesh tearing beneath him, the phoenix bit back another cry and did his best to work up another fire along his wings.

Arvo went slack, pretending to lose consciousness.

Dysis sprang off of Arvo, unfurling his wings and flying in a semicircle above the dove. She wasn't the one he was interested in, but hopefully Treasures would be able to handle his sibling.

Dysis slammed his beak into her scaly toes, tearing at them. His strength was fading, but the phoenix chose to ignore it and keep fighting.
(I'm assuming fire-resistance is a special power or something...? LOL, Dysis has met his match .)
