Does anyone have any well started layers such as leghorns or RIR's? I have a member here who wants 5-10 started hens. I am planning on coming to the chickenstock, so it would be a good opportunity to pick them up for him.
he wants anything that is hardy and lays large brown or white eggs...and that is not too old but close to laying. He also would prefer docile birds...he has a nice coop setup.

Hi,
I really want to come. I'm 5 hours drive away in Pittsburgh & I'd like to do half the drive in a day... so, what time does it start, I couldn't find this info.
I thought I may have Marans back when this thread started a few months ago. Now I'm just not sure what I'm bringing, but not Marans. I had a really poor hatch this weekend, so I'm hoping the next one will be better. For now I'm not counting my chicks before they hatch!
So I have a choice... I actually work the weekend of the chicken stock
so i plan to go to the Sussex county show. Anyone know if I would be able to buy my chicks there ~ Looking for 1BO, 1 Australorp and 2 EE ??? Because if I can't get them there, then i would like to try to get a co-worker to switch days with me and go to the stock instead if someone will have these chicks available.
OK, so I actually had a great hatch this morning and I can't believe it!!! Yay!!!
This is the first time I've ever had a good hatch!!!!
I will definitely be bringing Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks. They will be almost a month old when Chickenstock occurs.
Depending how my next hatches go, I may have Sicilian Buttercup chicks and Spangled Hamburg chicks.
I also now have seven, yes seven broody hens laying on bunches of eggs, so I will have a "Barnyard Special" group of chicks to bring along!
