N.E. Chickenstock 2011!!!!!! Who's up for it??

Have you looked at the mats they put on couches to keep dogs of of them? They send out an alarm. You put them on the floor next to the bed so you know when they get up. We were suggested to get one because of my dad, but he quick jumped to the next level and is now restrained in bed at night. Know what you're going through, but with a much bigger, stronger 82 year old.

The lavender and split lavender ameraucana eggs I set, to bring to chickenstock are starting to hatch. So far, one little split lavender is out and the others are just starting to pip.

THANKS... I never thought of those going on the floor. I have seen the ones for the bed, but in case the poor kid has to use the bathroom, the whole house has to be alerted. I have the VERY loud door alarms, but what if she decides to cook, mess with the bators etc, keeping her inside was the concern before, now she is messin with my purse
(nothing but Benadryl in there and an Epi Pen) .. Thanks for the info, will look into it!

well guys!!! I have horrible news..my chickenstock hatch was bad bad bad!!!

I hatched out 2 split lav silkies 3 days ago...the other 17 got shrink wrapped-I pipped all of them just a few moments ago-all 17 are gone! Turkey eggs..gone splash orps gone... Time for a new thermometer/hygrometer... I think it is NOT working correctly. Im sorry to all of those who wanted those chicks! I will NOT be bringing the 2 chicks that hatched--Its too much for me to pack a seperate carte for those 2 tiny babies..I will throw them under my broody this weekend when her eggs are due to hatch and hope all goes well...I will be bring the 6 week old chicks though...splits and some splash orps--oh and one EE chick too:)

It must have been-weird thing was it was steady as a rock-at least thats what it said??? I mean 100.2 for 2 weeks straight and 30-40% for 18 days and cranked up to 60% + Im glad my hatching days are over for that bator...My house can be empty and clean in a few weeks once they are all out of house brooders ...I guess thats the good news? LOL

I know I know..Nope I am not buying a new one and Im retiring hatching for the year:-( Ive been at it since Xmas--Its time to sit back and watch my babies grow. Ive sold most of what I hatched anyway:) I did keep 1 of this one of that-the best of the best and sold the rest...Actually Ive been working pretty hard on my splits silkies and kept a bunch of them until I can sex them-I have that huge incubator I told you about a long time ago??? It's in the garage and thats the project for next year depending on finances. If not I hope I have broodies because Im sick of that bator:)
