Im so sad to report this. My coop came under attack last nite. I lost 11 plus. Most of the chicks I got as eggs from chicken stock were killed, along with the older chicks too. I lost most my silkies.
Im so very sad to tell all the grandmoms & grandads of this tragic loss.
I will however get the darn coon that did this. Until then the chickens are coming inside the house at nite.

When I first got chickens I was so afraid they were going to freeze over the winter that I fed them peanut butter in hot oatmeal and handfuls of Black sunflower seeds so they would have a coat of fat. The following spring, one of my favorite hens died - the vet said she had atherosclerosis from too much fat in her diet. Talk about guilt.
