I am SOOOOOO in!!!! Hi guys *waving to all*!!

I am going to have some - some, don't get terribly excited - lavender orpington chicks. I'm waiting for the girls to get going full on, but I will have a couple hatches in by the end of May for sure.

I will probably have some other colors of Orpingtons as well.

I have placed my Cackle order. It's due in April. I ordered that Hatchery Surprise again so I know I will have some bantams and a few other misc breeds. I know, I know, I don't need a bunch of "misc. breeds" but it's so cool to open the box and see the mix of what they send! It's like "mystery Santa" only better cause it's CHICKS and not some cheesy candle or magnet from the Dollar Store!!!!

What food do you want me to bring?

SO excited! I was hoping you guys would want to do it again!!

Sarah

We totally scared them. My DH refers to us BYCers as the "crazy chicken people" and the few "outside" folks who came were totally weirded out by our love of poultry!! LOL!!

I may make the trip, just to get a few cuckoo polish from Baregretchen. Looks like a 4 hour drive....I should have some OEG's & Silver Penciled Plymouth rock bantams ready to go by then.

I would love to go, even if it was to just see all the chickens. I am only 2 1/2 hours away so the hubby and I could make it. Most likely would have to bring at least one child with us. Unless I can convince the sitter to take on all six for a day. Or I grab the sitter and leave hubby with all six children for the day.

Could somebody just explain it a bit to me?

I have to fully explain this to my hubby and the sitter. And believe me they will question to the point I would rather have interrogations done by the experts than deal with all their questions. I can't lie and saying it is a knitting fest since the chickens would be a dead give away. See if I say the word knitting the two of them get glazed over eyes and say yes anything you want. They are so not interested in knitting on any level.
So if somebody wouldn't mind..................

I think my new hobby crossed into addiction that very day...

Glad to see you'll be there Sarah. I thought you were moving away? Or was that just a ploy to get someone else to host this year?

I think you can bring the kids as I am bringing mine and there will be games for them. think of it as a big BBQ with chickens and people to talk to and get to know. We swap and sell birds, meet each other face to face and talk chicken.
