ChickyLaura checking in here. I need 4-5 spots, if I can "convince" DH to come along... We were at the auction on Saturday and he was naming the breeds of chickens as they came up for sale. I didn't say anything but was trying very hard to stifle my laughing!!! I am starting to get some serious egg sales going, so we decided last night to more than double the size of our coop. I will definitely be buying some chicks!!!

I am thinking of bringing my LG bator - maybe someone else will have better luck with it... But then again I think both of my thermometers/hygrometers are off, I don't know.

I think it's an awesome idea to call The Morning Call! The only thing is that I'm calling off of work 'sick' that day. Since Allentown State Hospital is closing and many staff are coming to "my" state hospital, there may be some Morning Call readers working with me.

I could always say that the Excedrin worked and it was too late for me to come in, so I decided to attend the Chickenstock!!!

I forgot to add - if you need help setting up on Saturday evening, I'll be glad to help. I don't know how the heck I lucked out, but I only live 22 miles from New Trip-ooo-li!!!

This is great, especially to bring some interest to this area. I contacted the head of the local 4H club. We don't have a chicken program in Schuylkill County, at least as far as I can tell. I would love to lead that program. Waiting to hear from her...

We don't even show chickens at the Schuylkill County Fair - just eggs. I'm hoping to try to change that!!!

I am not about to mess with the family recipe. Mother did enough of that and grandpa would rise from his grave to slap me if I do anything else to it.

Save me a spot... If I decide to camp, can someone help me pitch a tent? My husband and son do the Boy Scout thing, so I am sure there is a tent here someplace, I on the other hand don't usually do the whole camping thing, I enjoy hotels and room service, thank you very much!

I decided if I camp, I can spend my hotel money on chickens!

Not sure if too many hotels in this area offer room service. Maybe in Allentown, though! Actually, on I-78 in Fogelsville, I think the Holiday Inn and Conference center may offer room service. There are a bunch of hotels in that general area.
