N. GA - Carpet City Bantam Club Fall Show in Dalton - - Nov 27, 2010

I am thinking about coming to the dalton show, I may bring some silkies and cochins for sure. A few other people I know are coming with silkies.

Yah, I have buffs but they are nice breeder quality, not SQ. I had thought about showing one or two bantam Ameraucanas, though. Still trying to decide if I want to get up early enough to get birds all the way out there by 8 a.m.

I'll be there!!!! Calling in my entry tomorrow. Never shown at this show! What size show is it? Do they allow selling outside of the show? I know I have many questions, but like to know things ahead of time!

So, who else is coming to the show? What is everyone bringing to sell? I may bring 3 pair of Lemon Blue Cochins (Bantam), I need to thin down on them but it is hard for me to let go..

I went two years ago, SunshineSilkies, and it was a decent sized show. By far the largest classes were OEGB, as you might expect in the country, but that year there were some nice silkies, bantam cochins, gorgeous bantam Ameraucanas and even a few Araucanas, among other birds. They do rent a few rows of "sell" cages for very cheap, and there is a state rep there who does pullorum testing for a very small fee. Aside from the "official" sale rows in the show barn (actually 3 show barns), there are lots of folks selling birds outside in the parking lot. LOTS. Get there early for the best of the best birds.

Ohhhh Candiss, you are bringing lemon blues. . . .!!!! So very tempting!!!


BTW, the North GA Fairgrounds are not too hard to find. Use exit 336 off I-75; you can Google Map it. [500 Legion Drive Dalton, GA 30722] If you take N. Glenwood and turn on to Legion Drive, look for the sign marking the driveway on the right and head through the gate. Bear left through the parking lot along the main show building and you'll see the other folks there for the show.
