You chicken people are the coolest! The government can do what is carefully defined in the constitution and beyond that, they can butt out and leave me alone. There are a lot of politicians and programs that need a

On the topic of microchipping animals:

It is NOT a garauntee your animal will be returned to you. There are four or five microchip companies and each one requires a different scanner to register. Most SPCA's or any other animal place do not have all five of the scanners or even scanners at all. If a chip moves in the animal's body it may never be found even if scanned.

On the topic at hand:

I don't agree with microchipping in general. There is too much risk involved. Let me explain; We have amazing technology and it would only take little to place chips that can track people as well as use little things to force people to have a chip. Maybe one day we'll have chip's that can be substituted as credit cards, chips that can be substituted for citizenship or passport's. Your entire life could be placed inside of a chip. It's too risky.

Simple things can become something much more. Everyone who wants to stay connected needs a television now. People are talking about what they see on t.v, election debates and campaign advertising happen on t.v. I didn't have television until I was fifteen and let me tell you, by that time I was waaaay out of the loop. It won't take much to make a chip something that is required for people....

"If the rulers’ trust is insufficient
Have no trust in them"

I will never chip an animal under my care. Every day we all take risks, one way or another. I am willing to take a risk that I understand and have already accepted as a part of life, over a risk that may have unintended or unforeseeable consequences. Others would choose otherwise. But when that choice is taken away, you bet I'm going to get angry.

With all the surveillance cameras making their way into public spaces, you can only imagine how far these sorts of games will go.

It was shortly after hearing about the NAIS that the gov sent me one of their wonderful American Community Surveys. If you haven't heard about the ACS, educate yourself now . I have been bitter ever since receiving that document in the mail.

Remember 2 or 3 years ago when gas would go up, people would scream, rant, and yell, and gas would go back down. Then, when we shut up about it, gas would go up again, and the cycle would be repeated? There was speculation back then that gas would go to $4/gal. Now, when it goes up, we whine and groan, but we buy it because we have to. Its called "conditioning," and it works. We scream and rant and rave--for a little while, then we accept whatever the situation has become.
As for NAIS, on this one, we had better do more than rant and rave and yell. NAIS will impact our right to produce our own food on our own land. It will affect almost all pets and farm animals. This is what I suggest each person do:
1. Educate youself about NAIS. It is a good thing to be able to discuss with intelligent thinking and facts.
2. Don't be afraid to get involved with groups that are fighting NAIS. Some people have been on the fron line since the NAIS concept was born.
3. Contact your government representatives, congressmen, senators, local officials too. Let them know how you feel about this program.
They're "conditioning" us again, folks. We can't afford to lose on this one. We just cannot let the government have this kind of control over our lives...my opinion

"1. Educate youself about NAIS. It is a good thing to be able to discuss with intelligent thinking and facts."

This is one of the rare sensible things I've seen anyone say about NAIS. It's what I did & why NAIS doesn't concern me at all.
