my chicken is losing her hair/feathers everywhere. I 1st thought she was molting, but it's blood red where the feathers use to be and it itches her. what could it be? looks very painful. help!

Can you post some photos?
Do you have a rooster?

Without seeing it, we can only guess - having red places where feathers used to be sounds like feather picking.

They tend to pick around the back of the neck, or behind that on the back, or sometimes the rear end. It does get bloody, sometimes. A picture or three would be useful.
