I own 4 flightly naked neck pullets, I know they are all anywhere from 7 1/2 to 8 months old and they have not ever laid an egg. It could be because its winter time but out hre in AZ its starting to warm back up again and the days are getting longer. They get about 13 or 14 hours of mostly indirect lighting from the sun every day. They have good feed and a no-stress environment, always seem happy, yet never lay any eggs. Ideas?

I think since it’s warming up they Should be soon. My silkie Mix is just like thst about 9 months this month, its Probably them getting prepared for laying nice it’s consistently warm out. Good luck ❤️

Be patient, NNs started as a meat breed. They will start eventually, the waiting is the hardest thing.

In my flock the laying went like this the 3 oldest birds started laying sporadically and hiding their collective nest from me first (Black Swedish & Phoenixes), then the Crested Cream Legbar x Welsummers started laying almost everyday like egg making machines Olive eggs, then one day last week 1 of the Naked Necks laid a brown egg but we have only gotten a couple from her, then this week the Maran and the D’Uccle laid each one egg and finally the other Naked Neck started just today with her first egg.

Technically they are all laying now, but really the only consistent layers right now are my two Olive Eggers. I suspect more eggs will start coming more predictably as the girls get it a wee bit older and the weather heats up. Also I am making it hard for my naughty girls to hide their eggs…

The pinkish egg on the bottom and the brown egg on the far right came from my Naked Necks

They'll lay as the days get longer in your area. As per the deshi NNs we have in our country, they start laying a bit late. At the 8 month mark normally. Just be patient I assume! :)
