Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I can't remember if I posted this here but my son hatched out his first NN. His black EE with a pea comb ( blue egg gene?) over his red NN hen laying brown eggs. I think it's a roo but to early to tell. What do you guys think about egg color.

Tomorrow is lock down for my eggs but like others, I do not have big hopes since I forgot to turn the heat back on after candling one night. Grrrrrr

But look what has been hatched from MY EGGS by a friend's broody.

I think that the mother is a Serama/NN named Sparky and the DAD some one's project lemon cuckoo Marans. I do see some baring and only four toes.

Awe! Congrats to your son! Beautiful pics! I'm waiting to pull one of mine out of the bator to get a closer look but appears to have a pea comb as well. Also a red NN hen under my Black Ameraucana. Fingers crossed for both of us! ;)

The chick feather patterning isn't the same as the adult feather patterning.

They are cute.

I can't wait until they get bigger. I have one very tiny black girl, she is about half the size of the others. I worried about her the first day, however she is more active then the rest now, and runs around, and eats and drinks fine, so not to worried now about her not making it. I decided if she lives to be fully grown her name will be Midge short for midget. Maybe that is why they gave me the extra pullet because she was so tiny.

Rudy and his hatchmates have been outside in the coop w/ a covered run for 2 days now, they are doing well. Rudy is right in the middle keeping plenty warm even though the nights have been in the low 40's since he has been out. The teens are liking the extra freedom to roam w/ the big girls, but still real leary of them. They aren't nice to them, but not intervening mean either.
