whell i'm trying to come up with Golden Laced N-N's here is a pic of one of my pullets she is 5 months old, still working on these, but please tell me what you guy's think so far.
Oh great, more Turken threads to rub it in that other people can raise them and I apparently can't. . . I once had 10 Turkens, and. . . They all eventually died, either from disease, crop impaction, or intolerance to the constant cool, rainy weather.
If anyone has cold hardy, breeder quality Turkens - tell me.
Anyway, here's the only two that made it past 4 months:
Gallidia, died last month. She was alive the last time I posted these pics.
Licourice - died in my arms from crop impaction.
Quote:Way cool. I unexpectedly happened to get semi-laced out of mutts- dont have any laced birds or breeds. One gold like yours, one silver laced with stronger lacing. Because of those two I am going ahead with plans for laced NN... but also would like their tails to be laced, like in sebright and polish. I got a couple sebright roosters to breed with this hen:
I also got an obviously Wyandotte NN cross rooster out of what was supposed to be NN eggs, He looks probably silver penciled.... may use him to see if I could get pencilled or even laced NN with the Wyandotte style lacing- black tails.
Would love to stay in touch with you and anybody else doing laced NN projects?
Illia, that was so sad. They are good birds. Perhaps try again from a different source and/or have them vaccinated? I would offer eggs, but mine are from very dry and very hot summer area..
Very cute birds, Lisa. Cant wait to see your giants when they are mature.
Josh, those birds are extremely nice!
Southern, I hate chick pictures like yours. They always make me tempted to look at hatchery website to see pricing/availability for 25 turken chicks....
i want them n november
