Gonna be my turn to "double stack" if fertility is perfect!

We're working on White NNs for Conformation. We started by thinking we could work on two or three colors at one time but it soon became an unrealistic chore. Jason decided that White is the color had made the most advances so that'ts where we will concentrate all efforts.

I'm finding more satisfaction playing with the meat projects and I know I will stay with that.

I'm really happy that we cut out our eggs 'business' as this move has given us so much more time and is actually saving money. For the first time, I actually feel retired.

As for the weather, I think we average out pretty well; we don't worry about losing birds from heat or cold to any degree and it's much easier to lube up 4 or 5 cocks with Kendall Udder cream than perhaps 25 to 30 cocks/cockerels during the really cold drops.

Oh...It think it will be just me and my daughter working on the projects, (not counting Aaron) because I think Jason is going to apply to WVU for 2015-16 semester. It's a little more than 1.5 hours to to Morgantown but it would be unfair to expect him to show up here, except holidays.

I know exactly how you're feeling. Dropping several projects has made the hobby a bit more relaxing. Miss the "variety" but am finding pleasure in being able to devote more attention to individual projects than before. The bonus is also being able to hatch many more out of a project and yet still have the chick number being manageable. Nice...

Unfortunately I don't have any show standard type projects, although the possibility for standard black exists in one project so maybe later...

My eleven babies are a week old today! I can't believe how much they've changed and just had to share a few of my favorite pics with you guys.

This is my little feather-footed poser. I swear this little one thought this was a fashion shoot.

I still love the chipmunk striping on this one, and its incoming wing feathers are gorgeous. And how can I not love green chicken feet?

My smallest chick...but very tenacious and determined. I might have to call this one "Napoleon".

The drama queen in my group, and another feather-footed NN.

One of my favorites. This little one is the smartest in the group. (My son wants to name it Heisenberg. Hmmm...)

And my absolute favorite chick in the group, all because of "her" amazingly affectionate and determined personality. This little one instantly jumps onto or into my hand as soon as I reach into the brooder and will happily sit on my arm for as long as I'll let it. Look at the size of that fluffy bottom! This one's weight has increased by 125% since hatching!

Be great if this one turns out to be a pullet and lays blue eggs........ Need a Jesse though!

Is there a chance for the last one to turn out solid buff or barred buff?

Hi Everyone.
I have been lurking here for ages. I love all your NN. I have 3 NN hatchery birds. I love them, but they are no where near as pretty as any of these birds. Where are is a good source for these beautiful birds?
Desertchick and Kev, , where did you get your eggs, if you don't mind me asking?

Hello. Welcome to BYC and to the NakedNeck Thread especially.

Hi and welcome!

Aw, don't be so modest.. I'm sure your NN are pretties! Pics? :) What kind of NN would you like? Colorful or big or ? Nava has extremely well liked and beautiful NN. Bayshorek9 has very nice NN and they've been making them in different colors- barred, mottle, speckled.... they do eggs, I think Nava prefers to ship day old chicks.

Mine are from many sources... some been bred for many generations- been a fan and playing mad genetics scientist with them for more than 20 years.

Thanks for the welcome.
I like the different colors. I don't really mind if they are big or small birds. I just think the NN are so elegant, and there are so many beautiful birds on this thread.
I looked in the 'for sale' forum and didn't see anyone selling NN. I'll do a search for Nava and Bayshorek9 too.
My birds are pretty standard, two are black and one is red.
Thanks.
