Naked Neck/Turken Thread

My son wanted to add a NN Turkin to our growing flock. We picked up the beautiful girl at the feed store. Sold as a sexed female, wondering if she is showing signs of being a boy though. We have never had this breed so don't know what to expect for comb growth and the redness on he face???
This chick is 3 weeks old.
What do you think?

Looks like a make to me, my pullets dont have sll That redness at 3 weeks

I hope I'm wrong.

My 3 week old male NNs are showing pink around their jaws and ears like yours.. I understand that is a boy trait. My little female has no red.

These are my males. They have pea combs and will carry the green egg gene!

I candled my first real batch of eggs tonight. 2 are definitely fertile, 2 might be and I'm pretty sure 2 aren't. They are a NN roo over assorted hens.

Congrats Insanity!

I put some turken eggs in after I first got my girls. They had been free ranging and were with multiple breeds of roos.

Out of 6:

1 has what looks like a blood ring forming
3 have little eyeballs and veins
2 are dark speckled and I can't see anything much! LOL

Got the hens on 2/12/13 so they are past the 2 week mark and added 2 gorgeous Turken Roos with them last night.

Hoping to have pure turken babies here in a bit!!!

I just set 13 black naked neck eggs the other day. They were shipped from north Carolina. I'm pretty exited I'll post pictures of the incubator later.

Thanks Nava & Flowerbh for the help and especially the picture references. I will keep watching for more signs.
