Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Well I am doing it with or without your input!
I just just thought I would try and get some discussion going among NN lovers.
The next time I'll be sure to direct my question to those that I know might be able to offer an educated opinion.

Mine were about 17weeks before definite saddle feathers appeared on the cockerel. Mine are black, so it was maybe more difficult than if there are other colours present. Within a few days of my asking Kev for his opinion the unmistakable 'Cock-a-doodle-do' emanated from the coop.......

Also one could CHILL and wait for additional comment besides those who state that question and answer are subjective ! Sorry to ignore your request that you were looking for discussion but I regret to say that I have no objective knowledge of mixes of turkens and any other breed and cannot fathom any other that what I see! Kev ,dippsy doople, Nava and others may start a discussion. /Darlink no offense meant !

I would use two pens:

Splash roo over black hens (100% blue)

Blue roo over blue & splash hens (50% blue)

I know you like blue so this is what I would do. What is the size difference in your JG & NN's????? Will that be a problem?

Was just thinking the same thing myself,Sooner, about the size of the respective birds.

JG roo on NN hen (hopefully NOT bantam) equals squashed NN.........

I know they aren't bantam. He doesn't do bantam anything.

I know he will sure end up with some large NN chickens, I think it will look very interesting!

Very cute!! I just bought a little bantam NN from Kev and on the way home she laid a green egg!! So much fun!

Seems like there's not a lot of interest in NN's. What do you do with all your chicks Dipsy?

I like the little black skinned one. Now one more thing to want!! LOL!

Thanks Mary, I think they are cute (but I'm prejudiced).

Couldn't ask for more! You've got to show her off when you get her settled.

Mostly, I guard them fiercely. I don't *need* anyone else to be interested in them, but I appreciate you all that like NN's so we can discuss and show off pics/projects.
