Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Does that mean their birds have gone downhill since then?

I've been wondering about Welp hatchery too for Turkens.
No it means that I have moved four different times and started new flocks. Diversified and process my older birds and extra young males. I would order from McMurray again. However at this stage of raising poultry I know exactly what I would want to order.

I do not have much experience with other hatcheries because i now buy from local breeders except I did order naked necks from Nava here on this thread. She has nice chicks and you could also order from her if all you want is turkens.

I have just been reading the new posts for the last few days and note that several of you have roos who do the head shake stuff. My Gordon does it very regularly and I had thought it was just him as he is weird in many ways.

Seems to me that only roos do this. Anyone know what the significance of it is (if there IS any)?

My scrawny little Jordan is no longer wearing her coat as she now is sporting proper little feathers (also the weather is slightly milder).

On a more genetic note....anyone know what I'm likely to get if I cross Ginger

With Gordon?

Many thanks.

Just played around with the genetics calculator and depending on what's behind Ginger's white and George's blue, I think the best answer is Try it and Find out! :D (real helpful, I know), but from what I know of Chicken Color Genetics (aka I need a freaking PhD in this) and the calculator, you're going to see variations on Gordon's coloration (duckwing) in blue, black, and white with a chance of females that look more like mum.

Yes, great personality, hardy, very heat tolerant, and I have seen others from Astralia that have them> they are called both nn and turkens.

Thank you, fosterson.....I will go ahead and see next spring.

Gordon has a clean-necked black NN for a mum and a Blue Partridge Brahma for a dad. Ginger's parents are a bit more obscure.....I think her mum was 'blue' and her dad......who knows.....but it shouldn't have been Gordon. I'm thinking that I'll probably get a full range of colours from black to splash.

I'm pretty sure that there are NNs in Australia...so get some animal madd....you'll like them.

Here's my little Jordan after only 4 days.....new feathers to keep her warm

Thx guys I been reserching but have not found any yet but im not giving up to get few all pictures are of beautifull specimins so gorgeous

Is it possible Ginger is a splash ( from blue x blue)? If she is splash, splash x blue will give you all blues and splashes. In the case of Ginger and Gordon, splash and blue partridge-ish offspring. Awwe, Jordan is feathering back out beautifully : ) Got my first Naked Neck eggs since July in the incubator (first eggs set at all since July).
