I thought about breeding My Phoenix hen to a NN roo, That's why I ordered a roo. Then I want to breed it with a polish, and hopefully end up with a chicken with a headdress, Long tail, and Naked Neck. Wouldn't that be wild!!!

I went out and took pictures of the flock today and thought I would share. These are the NN and NN X Production Red youngsters that I hatched out this spring. They are about 13 weeks old:

And their father Big Mo (he lost the points on his comb to frostbite last winter):

Does anyone have any frizzle naked neck chicks or hatching eggs for sale? I had a frizzle naked neck (maybe a sizzle? had some silkie featherig it seemed) die from wet pox. He and the showgirl I had him with both were very young and caught the wet pox and I was so upset when they died. I had always thought the naked necks were ugly but when I got landed with those 2 I just fell so in love! The frizzle was just so soft and sweet and so unique looking! I loved his funky little bowtie. I'm fighting the urge to go buy some naked neck chicks from the feed store tomorrow, but I know I really want frizzles and showgirls again!

Thanks Maralpz! Mo has been a good roo taking excellent care of his girls. I picked up some barred rock pullets this spring and hope to breed to him in the hopes of getting crele NNs. (I think thats how you get crele...BBR x Barred?)
