I love the naked neck girls we got from you... they are the sweetest things! I posted some pics of them a few pages back... here is a link to it - https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=301500&p=92
We ended up just kept one of the large fowl NN roos... and at 16-17 weeks... he is HUGE... the biggest rooster we have by far... it'll be interesting to see just how big he will get... we named him Lucky

Howdy Ms Nava How's the weather treating you and your birds ?
Hipeatall, that still is lots of work ! How do they remove the feathers ? I know that Turkens have less feather but still the entire process is so tedious that after using the field dress technique I remain discouraged unless there is help in the labor !
I agree the plucking by hand is tedious... and I just couldn't even imagine trying to hand pluck so many. Thankfully the farm had a commercial plucking machine... got the job done in less than a minute.

Now yurrr talking ! I can not imagine plucking either. So I am glad to hear that the processing was successful and maybe someday I'll find a farm around here that we can use for that task.

Hey Josh! Oh yes, we will be at the Fancy Feathers show. Aidan, my son, is a member... so we will be there from the set-up to the break-down
. I don't know what Aidan wants to show this year... he took his trio of bantam black cochins last year and one of his hens did really well and won Grand Champion. I do think he wants to use "Aleera" for showmanship. Aleera is one of the NN Bantam hens we got from the eggs we hatched from you. She is possibly the tamest chicken I've ever been around and would be perfect for showmanship... and Aidan just loves her. Amy
Just in case you missed my post a few pages back...
