Getting some groceries.
Cutting a few pruned branches from last week (make them shredding ready).
Ordered a wireless electric saw to cut branches.
3 things that I need to do today are (1) give my 6 years old rooster a bath, he looks terrible, and has some sort of eyes and ears things.
(2)work out what is the health issues are on my rooster
(3)monitor 1 hour integration of my 5 week old Pekin pullet with a Pekin hen.
No, I actually have 4 things to do, take photos of my rooster eyes to seek help here. I just don't know what is up with his eyes. The areas around his eyes are slightly swollen, there are yellow cheesy stuff under his eyelids, smelly stuff and also the edges around his eyes bending its shape, like it is not in a shape of his eye, it sort of deviate to another shape.
Imho its better not to give chickens a bath with water. Chickens prefer a sand bath. Roosters often prefer a moist sand bath.

Maybe his awful looks is partly from molting? Did you look in his beak? Good idea to take pictures and make a new thread.

I am in Australia, it is spring over here and we have lots of storms & rain in spring season.
I wanted to give him a bath because all his toes are filthy, and feather under his chest and belly are so dirty that it stained his cream feather colour. I did not end up give him a bath, but did a general cleaning of his face and comb. His comb must be very itchy as when I scratch his comb with a q-tips, he closed his eyes and beak opened a bit. We are having rain now, so after the rain I will just wash his feet and let him dirt bath himself, the soil will be moist after a few days of sunshine.
He drops a few wings feather here and there, but not much that I think he is molting. I have never seen him molt all these years, just a few wings feather dropped. Before I found he was growing new feather, they have this waxy texture covering the new feather.

Went to the vet's house - he forgot to leave meds.
Went to the club and carried out designated tasks.
Came home - had lunch.

Cleaned dog pens.
Cleared sump pump drainage - anticipating rain Wed. night - :celebrate
Back to the club to work one 'old lady' dog - she's complaining.

I know you do field training with beagles but what do you mean when you say "work" a dog? Is that just putting them through their paces?

Taking them out and allowing them to trail a rabbit - trying to minimize their faults and maximize their attributes. With the older dogs it's just allowing them to have some fun and exercise.

It is raining again and the chicken runs are muddy with potholes of water everywhere...Grrrrr
3 things to do today are (1) think about what to do with muddy chicken runs - can not put cardboard/sugarcane mulch in there because chickens eat them.. so lot to think about
(2)Look at the quote for bathroom modification for my mom, the quote lacking details so lots of questions to ask the builder - big job.
(3)Try to shake off my headache with watching movies or just be still. No chance that going to happen as all those egg songs will start soon.
Having a big cup of tea now. What is it about tea/coffee that smooth the soul?
