We did put out trap last week, caught 1 the size of a 250ml cup. Non since, but this morning the rat poops are just everywhere.

Lime will make whatever small feed on the ground decompose faster.

I have 2 dogs and my neighbours have dogs that all in the garden all day, so baiting rat I can not do. My dogs are inside at night so they can not do much. My miniature fox terrier dog only have a few teeth left so he is not much risk the those rodents.

Edit to add that those nasty rodents dug up and ate all my sweet potatoes.
What does a 250ml cup look like?

Using my sewing machine and the needle keeps jamming. I'll try to figure out what's wrong tomorrow...
Make sure the shoulder plate's set properly and your needle's secured in as far as it'll go. In my older machine, that irritating little issue rears its' head quite regularly, any time I reset a needle or clear out the bobbin case.

I treated the poison ivy I got from the first round of a major yard cleanout.

I thanked the guys picking up yard waste for taking the "tree," too - didn't expect that!

I will yank down the rest of the Virginia creeper trying move into my attic from the back steps.

Yesterday I put out lime and pine bark with hope that the lime will help decompose the feed on the floor faster and the pine bark strong smell will somehow deter those nasty rodents.

This morning I checked, the rodents came back last night and had a party in 3 of my chicken runs, their poops are everywhere and it was a big clean up again.

So what I will do today...

I did the rodent poops clean up already
Check out on the rodent proof feeder
Monitor the rodent poop eating hen

And calm myself down....I am feeling at the moment that this is getting to me big time, this is my last flock of chickens, there is no energy left in me to march on. Endless illness, bullying, fighting, broodiness, and now rodent infestation...I am calling it a day now.
