Sending the husband while I catch up with our loan officer. You're absolutely right. I've looked at places that seem perfect on paper, but then don't work in person. Like walking into a basement that smells like sewage and chain smokers. UGH, STRESSFUL!! 😵‍💫

And there's always that hidden gem. My current house looked "okay" on paper, but when I stood on that beautiful old porch, I was sold! We've been here almost 25 years now, and I STILL love my old porch!
 
Our house sounded a little bit better than ok when I read the listing. When we drove up the driveway, we were falling in love. When we walked into the living room, that sealed the deal.

Buying this house and property (and the rest of the property we've bought) were some of the best decisions we ever made.

And, yes, I do know how lucky we are.

Feed and water the chickens and ducks. Maybe try to rip out the garden without killing the pumpkin plants. Try to get the ducks to move in to the small little area that's been made for them. Hopefully Wally will stop running up to me to save him from that mean duck that likes to bite him on the tail and sometimes in the butt. Hopefully I can get the 3 younger chickens put up with the big girls and then I can get my flowers planted.

Thank you, Sally! I know we'll get there eventually. If it's a winner, I'm hoping the naked butt cheek sculpture in the bathroom puts off other buyers. So much for depersonalizing your listing. 😂

I found mine when I was out looking at another listing. I drove by this one as I was heading home and noticed a HUD for sale sign on it.

Contacted my realtor, made an offer and bought the house.
