My dad and sister want to move there, but my mom and I would prefer to stay on the east coast.
Have you looked at New Hampshire? It's pricey around the cities (Salem, Manchester, Concord, Lebanon), but once you get a bit north or west, the prices should ease off. I guess it depends on what you need for work.

Yes, back in 2020 we spent six months there trying to find a house. Now we have to be somewhat close to an international airport 'cause of my dad's job, so north or west wouldn't really work.

Ah, I understand. Manchester has a small regional airport (that's actually a pleasure to use), but you'd have to drive to Boston for international flights. Oh, and no income tax here, if you didn't know. You get walloped with property taxes instead.

We've looked for houses in upstate NY, but I hear the winters are brutal because of the lake effect. It's hard to find somewhere that's just right.

This is good to know. I was looking there, too.
Maybe since we're both looking for places we can chat over in my thread so we don't derail this one? (only if you want to :)!)

Take a ride with DW to drop off monthly 2 lbs of honey to her older friend.
If I keep PROCRASTINATING I'll be mowing on the waxing moon and have to cut one more time. :lau
